Thai Lipa Yai mushrooms originate unsurprisingly from the Lipa Yai region of Thailand. They were discovered by the well known mycologist John Allen. They are not to be mistaken for the Koh Samui strain although both strains can be found on the island.
The main distinguishing features of Thai Lipa Yai is they tend to grow taller and have thinner caps. Thai Lipa Yai spores are suitable for beginner microscopists and exhibit sub ellipsoid dark purple spores.

- Thai Lipa Yai spores should be kept in a cool environment like the fridge (4-8°C is ideal). We recommend to use them within 6 months but it's not uncommon for them to last years.
