Clumping - Breaks down more easily compared to rye or oats, potentially leading to clumping.

Tips

Reduce Contamination Risks - Let the bag fully colonise before handling and only open it in a sterile environment, like a still air box or in front of a laminar flow hood.
Kickstart Colonisation - If your bag stops colonising and stalls, it’s usually because of the positive pressure on the mycelium. Turn the bag on it’s side and this will change the pressure point and allow the mycelium a route to grow.

How long does Sterilised White Millet Grain last?: Sterilised White Millet Grain will last approximately 3 months in a cool environment. We recommended to store it in the freezer and take it out a day before use.
Do I need to add any water?: No - this substrate is already hydrated to field capacity. Field capacity relates to the relative moisture content of the soil required for the mushrooms fruiting bodies to harvest.
