Our locally sourced organic Rye Grain has been hand selected. Prior to sterilisation our grain is carefully rinsed and soaked. We add a percentage of calcium sulphate to help balance the PH plus it plays a role in cell wall formation and mycelium development which contribute to healthy mycelial growth, strong fruiting bodies, and overall higher yields.
Mushrooms prefer a slightly acidic to neutral PH range so it also helps absorb and retain moisture by absorbing excess water and releasing it slowly as when needed. Complete with self-healing injection port and a filter to help with gas exchange, minimise contaminants and maintain moisture control.
* All of our substrate is sterilised at 15 PSI for 3 hours.

- Sterilised Organic Rye Grain will last approximately 3 months in a cool environment. We recommended to store it in the freezer and take it out a day before use.

What Will I receive?
When will I receive my Sterilised Organic Rye Grain?
Sterilised Organic Rye Grain takes 24 hours to prepare so orders completed before noon (on a UK working day) will be dispatched on the next working day, i.e. Mon-Fri & non-holidays (UK). Orders made after noon (again on a UK working day) will be dispatched the day after the next working day. Please allow 2-3 days delivery time from dispatch. Outside the UK, times can vary greatly - so it is better to order well in advance.
