Product Description
This is a blend of locally sourced horse manure and vermiculite, ready to use at field capacity (fully hydrated). This mix has been carefully pasteurised to ensure the most serious pathogens are eliminated whilst retaining many of its nutrients to maximise yield.
Although not strictly necessary we've added vermiculite to this mix to allow for consistent moisture retention throughout the grow lifecycle and ensure a Stable Grow. :)

- How long does Pasteurised Horse Manure Substrate last?
- Pasteurised Horse Manure Substrate will last approximately 3 months in a cool environment. We recommended to store it in the freezer and take it out a day before use.
- Do I need to add any water?
- No - this substrate is already hydrated to field capacity.
- What does Field Capacity mean?
- Field capacity relates to the relative moisture content of the soil required for the mushrooms fruiting bodies to harvest.
- How do I use this item?
- Mix it with a fully colonised mushroom media. We recommend at least an inch covering on top.
- What is autoclavable?
- Able to withstand the action of an autoclave.
- What is an autoclave?
- Autoclaves operate at high temperature and pressure in order to kill microorganisms and spores. They are used to decontaminate certain biological waste and sterilise media, instruments and lab ware.
- Why is an autoclave important?
- To grow mushrooms effectively conditions must be sterile ensuring that there isn't any contamination.
What Will I receive?
When will I receive my Pasteurised Horse Manure Substrate?
Horse Manure takes 48 hours to prepare so orders completed before noon (on a working day) will be dispatched two working days after, i.e. Mon-Fri & non-holidays (UK). Please allow 3-4 days delivery time from dispatch. Outside the UK, times can vary greatly - so it is better to order well in advance.
