Known as Burmese Penis Envy (abbreviated as BPE), this strain emerges from a genetic hybridisation between the Burmese variety and Penis Envy. This particular variant is considered relatively recent and exhibits some genetic instability.
BPE's chocolate brown caps and stumpy white stems are a characteristic of a hybridisation with Penis Envy. Under the microscope the spores are dark purple to black and subellipsoid in shape.
