Hillbilly mushrooms are a strain of Psilocybe Cubensis dating back several decades. It gained popularity in the late 90's and early 2000s but then disappeared before making a reappearance. The Hillbilly strain is currently experiencing a resurgence of interest among microscopists after winning the Psilocybin Microdosing Cup in 2022.
The Hillbilly mushroom has a caramel-coloured cap and a white stem, colonising quickly whilst growing in dense clumps. Hillbilly spores are dark purplish to black, and subellipsoid and are an excellent choice for the beginner.

- Are Hillbilly spores legal?
- Yes, it is legal to possess and sell Hillbilly spores in the UK, but it is illegal to grow or consume them. Those outside the UK should be familiar with the legal status of magic mushroom spores for their jurisdiction - according to the intended purpose. Mycology is a rapidly growing activity.
- How long will these Hillbilly spores last?
- Hillbilly spores should be kept in a cool environment like the fridge (4-8°C is ideal). We recommend to use them within 6 months but it's not uncommon for them to last years.
What Will I receive?
When will I receive my Hillbilly spores?
We'll prepare and dispatch your Hillbilly spores on the same day for orders made before noon (UK time) on working days, i.e. Mon-Fri & non-holidays (UK), except where there are other non-spore items included in the order, e.g. substrate. In which case orders will be dispatched according to the item that takes longest to dispatch (see dispatch times for other item types included in the order). Otherwise, in the UK you could usually expect to receive your Hillbilly spores within 2-3 days. Outside the UK times can vary greatly - so it is better to order well in advance.
