Belonging to the Hymenogastraceae family, the mycelium has a rhyzomorphic, cotton like appearance, with intricately woven strands. Colombian Rust mushrooms are a rare variety in both look and effect. Under the microscope Colombian Rust spores are orange to reddish and subellipsoid.
